Abigail and her Sisters | Newborn Photography, North Vancouver, BC | Jillian Kirby

Today I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Miss Abigail. She was a total DREAM and slept the entire time! I heart sleepy babies.  ;)

Usually I suggest to parents that the newborn session might not be the best time to get sibling shots, just because we like to fuss with baby as little as possible to keep him/her in a good mood. And by the end of the session, little babes are usually done with me and my camera!!  ;)   But Miss Abigail’s big sisters were so lucky cause not only did her grandma drive them out to my studio at the end of the session, but Abigail decided to sleep so nicely for the photo too!

Thank you to all the ladies today! I had such a nice morning with all of you and can’t wait to see you again!

Noah & Liam | South Surrey BC | Family Photography | Shannon Stevenson

What a treat to get outdoors and shoot again!! There has been SO much rain lately…we have been rescheduling sessions like crazy!!  This is an amazing time of year for family photos though, so it is all worth the wait!

Meet little Noah and his baby brother, (whom he loves with all his heart) Liam. Two very special little boys whom you have all seen before! This image just cracks me up, I smile ear to ear every time I look at it…. :)

These two attended our 2009 Christmas Mini Sessions at babycheeks and Jillian also did Liam’s newborn session when he was brand new…look at him now growing up fast at 9 months!!!

I adore this image as well, I melted when I saw Mom place her hand on her son’s head. I often walk this same way with my boys…must be a mom thing. Love it!

Sweet Surprise | Lucy Lime Studios | Shannon Stevenson

As photographers we do what we love to do. Period. We create art with our hearts for people to enjoy in their homes for a lifetime and sometimes that art will even be passed down from generation to generation. There honestly is no job better suited for me on earth. I specialize in child photography because the magic is undeniable, the innocence unmissable, and the sparkle in their eyes is the most brilliant thing to capture and watch come to life in print. Sometimes I forget to breath when I am shooting…..it literally can take my breath away. When I am working I am a quiet photographer, I don’t really do to much directing, or posing, I watch for the magical moments that the families don’t even know are happening. I see it all and I feel blessed to be able to capture that for the families I work with. Whether they know it or not, I become bonded with them, with their children and their family’s story. I think of them often after the session and wonder how they are doing and think about how much the kids must have grown. For this reason I love when they come back for their next photo session, we again become instant friends, we play, we dance, we preserve memories for a lifetime.

Henry and Claudia are two of the most special children… they have a story of bravery and strength and when I am with them it makes me a better person. Today they reminded me of  how much my clients mean to me. When I opened the door and found a sweet surprise, I felt loved, and when I saw it was from them it was affirmation that I do what I am meant to be doing. So thank you Henry and Claudia, your gift truly means more to me than you will ever know…

Questions, questions, questions… | Lucy Lime Studios

We realize that the best website in the world still might not answer all the questions you have when investing in custom portrait photography.

“If I put my son in a bright green and my daughter in a bright pink, will that work for our outdoor session in the rain?”

“My newborn daughter has a little bit of baby acne? Is that going to show up in the photos?”

“I’m due in April… when should I book you!?”

Of course, we’ve both got kiddos and lives outside of work and won’t be available 24/7, but when we are, click on the button and get your answers in real time!

We’re also excited to add another feature to our blog content:

Every week we get numerous emails from people, some mommies wanting to take better photos of their kids and some professional photographers from around the continent, asking us questions about photography. And while we love answering the questions and chatting with new people, at the end of the day, there’s just not enough time!! So, Shannon and I are going to try and do FAQ posts that will answer the most asked questions we get.

Lucy Lime Turns One Year Old!!!

January 1, 2010 – 8:00 am

January 1st, 2010 marks Lucy Lime’s First Anniversary! That’s right! It’s been one whole year since we launched this little company of ours and we have to say that it’s been more than we could have ever hoped for. The response we have gotten from our past, current and new clients has been overwhelming and while it’s been a year of trial and error, it’s also been a year of success and we have all of you to thank!

This new year will hold lots of new things for Lucy Lime and we can’t wait to share it with you all! There’s only a couple things we can mention right now… First, we are proud to launch our new portfolio sites that we have been working hard on. Please do go check them out and feel free to send us some feedback on what you like and what you see could use some improvement. Our goal is to showcase our work in a simple, classic format that is easily navigated by our clients. We hope you enjoy what you see!

Also, we have changed up our pricing. The basis of the pricing stays the same, but we have altered the Collections so that you have more of a say of what you receive. Do you like to showcase your images as artwork displayed proudly on your walls? Wonderful! We have something for you! Perhaps you’d rather have some high quality smaller prints to hand out to the grandparents as gifts? Well, we have something for you too! We have been listening to your comments, and we hope that our changes are coming close to meeting the needs of all our clients!  We still focus largely on offering digital files and are proud to be one of the few studios at our level to offer that option.

Well what would a birthday be without presents?!?! And of course, we wouldn’t be here without all of you… so here ya go!
