For those of you who aren’t aware, Shannon and I volunteer for an amazing non-profit organization based in Colorado called Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep (NILMDTS). This charity has over 2500 volunteer photographers from all over the world who donate their time and services to families who have or will experience infant bereavement. These photographers go into the hospital (free of charge) after the baby is born and not only photograph the baby, but also the parents and family members with the baby in order to help the family to forever remember their child(ren).
On the weekend I went to the B family home and photographed this gorgeous couple as they await the arrival of their son. This little sweetheart has been diagnosed with a medical condition that is incompatible with life. They are not sure how much time they will have with him. I am so pleased that I got to go in and photograph these moments that they never want to forget.
