Today I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Miss Abigail. She was a total DREAM and slept the entire time! I heart sleepy babies.

Usually I suggest to parents that the newborn session might not be the best time to get sibling shots, just because we like to fuss with baby as little as possible to keep him/her in a good mood. And by the end of the session, little babes are usually done with me and my camera!! But Miss Abigail’s big sisters were so lucky cause not only did her grandma drive them out to my studio at the end of the session, but Abigail decided to sleep so nicely for the photo too!

Thank you to all the ladies today! I had such a nice morning with all of you and can’t wait to see you again!

This is sweet Sophia! She LOVES to get her photo taken… she basically slept through the whole session! You can imagine, that made my job a lot easier!

It was sooo nice to meet you today Sophia (and it was nice to meet your mommy and daddy too!).

By the way folks, Shannon and I are headed to Vegas for WPPI (a huge photography convention) this week. So if it’s a little quite around here, know we’ll be back with lots of photos, new products and new ideas!!

I am so excited to re-introduce little Isla….we first got a sneak peek of her during Mom’s maternity session with Jillian a year ago HERE and then again within her first few days of life for her Newborn Session with Jillian HERE. It is just so awesome that we get to watch these families grown year after year!

Isla came all decked out in her skinny jeans from NEXT..one of my favorite shops in the UK to buy kids clothes! Every time I go back to England I have to take an extra suitcase just for kids stuff from NEXT!…. and check out her little shoes….sigh….what a doll.

We love you Isla!! You are just too cute for words.

Being a family photographer is an amazing thing but any family or child photographer will tell you that running a photography business is no easy task. There are many things other than taking pictures that we must do to keep our business a float…..I won’t bore you with those details, but all of you who run small businesses yourselves know what I mean. We are not able to shut the door and leave work at work…we live, eat and breath our careers all the while striving to keep balance in our personal lives. Sometimes all this can be overwhelming, it can get you down….but then you experience a moment, a moment that is so pure it takes your breath away, it makes you pause and reminds you why you do what you do. Those moments happen when families show up with open hearts and feel the freedom to be themselves. In return we can share the magic that we were so lucky to witness on that day in the form of a photograph, proof that there is love within all of us, a love that is shared with those that are closest to us. Those moments look a little something like this:

Meet Mr. Adam. Oh he is just the cutest little thing ever… and his mommy definitely agrees! One of the great things about this job is that you get to see the absolute adoration that these new parents have for these little beings that have only been around for a few days. It’s truly amazing and I love it every time!!

Thanks L for coming by today. I had a wonderful time snuggling Adam and I hope you enjoy the images!!
